Kenneth R. Hardman

Several years ago, while reading, “Experience God’s Love,” by Dale G. Renlund (reference below) my emotions took hold of my pen and marked every page. Anxious to remember his journey and counsel I began writing, and re-writing. It has become my practice, even my method of study, to attempt to embody important principles in a lyric, in a song. For me, this practice motivates deeper pondering, longer memory, and clearer application. Have you experienced these emotions?

“Oh, God. Where are you?” Upon knees, with trembling hands streaked by tears, our desperate plea continues. “I’m in darkness. I know you were there, once—where did you go. I need you now more than ever?” Silence persists. “Life is so hard…And when I do my best it gets harder. Please, help me.” With a particle of hope remaining, “Touch my eyes, wipe my tears, help me see…help me, grow.” Listening patiently a thought penetrates the darkness, then another. A memory, a kind person, a light, a prompting, a touch of hope. And then a feeling—something familiar.”
